This is the surprisingly colorful view from Mesa Verde National Park, looking west toward the Ute Mountain Reservation. I don't know what the purple and green and yellow vegetation is, but it's pretty striking.

You don't use a haze filter at a minimum to protect your lens?

Utes are one of the major indigenous peoples in that area.
My cousin thinks otherwise.
yellow could be aspen (depending on time of year)
green could be pine, and there's some pinon in the area (they produce pine nuts)
I'll bet this is from October, when he went to CO to see the annular eclipse, so yeah it would be aspen
I worked there for two years. The pinion-Juniper areas were never that color. The whole thing is way too blue, so I don't trust any of the colors.

dark green is conifers.
the lighter green and yellow are aspens in various stages of autumn, a common pattern in the CO mountains.

The colors have to be off. the Purple should be red, it's Gambel Oak, locally called Scrub Oak.
Agree it’s too blue, but regardless this SW corner is one of the most beautiful parts of CO, even though it has plenty of competition.
