Some ferns at the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park. Very soothing, aren't they?

Reminds me of the one peaceful place I could visit in back of our house in Aspen Hill, Maryland - before it became built up, before the Beltway snipers - was a place where i could sit on a fallen tree with my cat, surrounded by large ferns.
These are a beautiful reminder of absolute privacy & quiet broken only by birdsong.

Almost as soothing as a good cat photo
+1 ????
Bracken ferns take over our yard about twice a year; they die back during the peak of the summer or if we get a hard frost or snow.
They're fast growers from rhisome-like structures and good for binding the soil.
