Kevin - I'm considerably older than you, and while I don't have your health issues, this election does make me feel as if the sun is setting on the landscape of my life.

It could be a sunrise...

Kevin's on the west coast. The sun's setting. I feel like him right now too. And I'm 75. I don't know if I will see this country turn around in my life time. Hopefully my children and grandchildren do.

The picture is captioned as being taken in Mojave. And appears to have land towards the horizon. And Kevin does (overnight?) astrophotography jaunts.
The picture could be looking either East or West.

And? My feelings stand.

A beautiful picture to represent a most ugly situation. I'd think a sink hole would be more accurate depiction of our situation. But that's just me.

I might be tempted to go with a black hole, speaking for myself, but they don't stick around for portraits so I might settle for a Slough of Despond. Also hard to photograph, though, and Kevin's pic is definitely a beautiful one worth looking at.

We are in the class of folks who are almost in the zone of those protected by the law but not bound by the law. Yes, maybe we can survive the carnage but, can our children and grandchildren?

So... It's mourning in America?

So appreciate your sensible commentary through this difficult time.

The glass is neither half-empty nor half-full. The glass has a leak. The question is can it be fixed…

Ah yes, sunrise over Penobscot Bay. It’s always darkest before the sun rises

So, where is Senator John Blutarsky when the Democrats need him? https://youtu.be/Ib43Lfdivdw
I was just reading a social post with of Trump supporters crowing with delight that they'll be able to afford groceries and gas again.
When they can't it will still be Biden's fault. We are well and truly screwed.
Like the Confederacy whose values they share, they will soon discover they have started a war they won’t win.
I bet you never thought that post last week from the 405 freeway would be prescient.
Like Kevin, I too feel as though just over the horizon is a nuclear explosion.
Remember, it's always darkest before it goes totally black.
Cultivating ambiguity?
What politicalfootball said. It is neither a sunrise nor a sunset, but rather a nuclear detonation.
