These are the Sheephole Mountains in late afternoon as the sun is starting to set behind them. The detail is delicate and hard to capture with a camera. This shot gives a decent idea of what they look like, but not a perfect one.

They do give the sense of a space where a sheep would be if it were there but it is not, therefore the 'sheep hole'.
Really nice color saturation gradient showing the relative distances of the mountains.
Are they in a sheephole country?
Well done...but this is where a large format camera would shine. Alas for an 8x10, it costs $35. a shot for color film and development, $250 for high rez scanning...and then $200 and up for a really good wet darkroom (but digitally exposed) print. Anyone want to buy an all-up 8x10 rig with 2 wide angles, a normal and a 3 focal length Tele-Nikkor (longest length 1 meter)?
