This is a penguin at the San Diego Zoo, picking nits or bugs or who knows what from his fur. I wish I could own a penguin. I'd like to see how the cats would react.

Fur?
It's an odd penguin. Can we name it Opus?
I realize that his name was "Opus T. Penguin", but he was apparently just a puffin.
Nuance…
Yes, I wondered that too.
Penguins are tough critters on cats. Few if any cats are to be found at the South Pole.
Same as with polar bears.
QED.
Why yes, I will take a bow. Thank you for your applause.
That's an African Penguin, which is by far the most common species you'll find in a zoo, as they adapt well and can tolerate a wide range of climates. It and three other closely related species are sometimes known as "jackass penguins" because of their calls.
You can see (and swim with, if you so desire) African Penguins at Boulders Beach, near Cape Town in South Africa, where you will also see signs like this one: http://christinevadai.com/SouthAfrica/1/boulders_penguin_sign.jpg
geez, it's like Cape Fear, but with penguins.
Would that be Skipper, Rico, Kowalski, or Private?
Try them out on a chicken first.
Penguins have feathers, not fur. I demand a public correction!! (What is our nation coming to?)
