Note to Russia: You are still in a war against Ukraine

I am once again confused:

"Accuses"? Who else would attack Sevastopol? And why shouldn't they? Russia keeps raining missiles on Kyiv, after all. It only seems fair.

Injured? More like dead as a doorknob.

What is Azerbaijan's end goal? Does it stop at the Nagorno-Karabakh gap, or does it extend all the way through to the southern edge along Türkiye, it's main supporter and ally?

Russia's influence is waning rapidly in the Caucasus. Will Georgia reclaim South Ossetia? Will Chechnya break away from Russia?

I suspect that Azerbaijan's end goal is to bring all of Nagorno Karabakh under Azerbaijan's control. They are still po'ed that the Armenians were able to alienate a chunk of land that they regard (with the backing of international law) as part of their country.

If the Soviets had included NK and a corridor as part of the Armenian Republic in the Soviet era borders, this could have all been avoided...

That statement of accusation is probably for domestic consumption. Russia still refuses to acknowledge that what they are doing in Ukraine is a war. Russian media are required to call it a "special military operation" or other such euphemisms, and further are required to say Ukraine was the aggressor. Something like half of Russians, and more than half of the older generations, actually believe these things. Within this context, Russia's statement makes total sense.

Careful, you're falling for a subtle game Russia plays.

That looks like BBC branding; if that's right, Lavrov has prestige Western media parroting his language. That is not a domestic play, that's framing the debate internationally.

Russian diplomatic/intelligence folks are good at this. Don't fall for it.

      ????????????????

And they're doing it with a motley assortment of old & new weapons which they seem capable of mastering quickly - in addition to their ingenious hacks using drones, plus that new kayak of theirs.

Sure wish that the dawdling over more & better missiles & especially the F-16 planes & training hadn't minimized their progress.

Zelenskyy is right in that the UN will always be useless in such situations as long as Russia can block anything, but no one can counter their ppwer...

Am almost hoping that the one Chechen leader loyal to Putin turns on him despite not having nearly the troops that Prigozhin had - or maybe the Chechens will again revolt & take Putin's mind off of Ukraine & her smaller neighboring countries which have known Russian rule.

If Azerbaijan was serious about this they could probably create real international backing to purchase Nagorno-Karabakh, simply buying out the entire population who will probably mostly go along with it at this point.

Problem solved, no one loses the dick measuring contest.

They're jealous. The AFU aimed and took out generals. Of course that's what RA would say. Every flag officer should be sweating, because they are coming for every single one of them.

This blurb actually made me laugh, in a sick way. Silly isn’t it tha Russian feels it is the one having been ‘agressed’. They are sounding more and more like repulsives.

Putin is a historically terrible leader. If I was Russia, my number one goal would be figuring out how to avoid becoming a Chinese client state. But under Putin's leadership, that process has accelerated.
