Republicans: Biden Is a Doddering Old Simpleton

Joe Biden held a press conference earlier today, and by all accounts it was fairly normal. I watched it, and aside from a fumble during Biden's answer about the filibuster, it was about what I expected: The questions were mediocre, Biden's responses were unexceptional, and then it was over. Just another day in Washington DC.

But Republicans are apparently still hellbent on insisting that Biden was mere moments away from total infirmity. Here is National Review:

Elsewhere, Sean Hannity is kvetching that Biden referred to notes for some of his answers, apparently on the supposition that Biden was just being wheeled out as the public face of an administration that he's too senile to actually run himself. Down in the fever swamps, the big question is who's really running the White House these days? Kamala Harris? Bernie Sanders? The ghost of Karl Marx?

It never ends. And we still haven't heard from Donald Trump yet. I can't wait.

Thought you meant Greemwald at first, owing maybe to a genderswapped "Two girls, one cup" type video from the Glemmer's Brazilian film production company.

Given El Jefe's voider-porn interests, though, might still work.

Pretty delightful to see the way Biden ties the right in knots. In the press conference, when asked if Trump would be running against him in 2024, he even said "I don't even know if there's going to be a Republican Party." That must have made some heads spin at Fox.

If everyone at the National Review wants to pretend that they prefer the trump facial expressions & sounds emanating from him to Biden's, that's fine with me. Let them listen until they go blind & their ears bleed. I am OK with the guy who wasn't my first choice, but would still like him to apologize privately to four women.

JFC, the balls on these people. After four years of swooning over the shambolic, mendacious ramblings of a vicious autocrat with narcissistic personality disorder, they're welcome to have a nice, hot mug of stfu while a real president, who has battled a stutter all his life, refers to notes when answering questions and speaks deliberately in plain, whole sentences.

I'm increasingly convinced that the way to handle Republicans is like you would handle someone with material mental illness, like some form of dementia, perhaps on top of a behavioral disorder. It reduces the emotional temperature without obliging you to take their rantings any more seriously than they deserve.

As much as I love reading about the insanity and complete disregard for reality from the GOP, I do wonder the value in it.

Can we just stop talking about this stuff? Kevin what's your reason for posting it?

Am I just sticking my head in the sand? I don't know what these kinds of posts do anymore, besides get me angry and change no one's mind ever.

Those were the best shots National Review could come up with to try and make Biden look goofy? You put a camera on someone for long enough you can usually find a shot that makes a person look insane. The best they've got is one where he's blinking. Sad.
