    But she certainly looks different in that pose, doesn't she - hair color & style, but not AI?!

        Thought it was perhaps an outtake from that photo shoot, but I didn't remember her facial appearance, or that her hair had been styled since differently from her usual bangs - but knew it wasn't another AI version;-)

    A great endorsement. Waiting till after the debate was probably a wise choice. Everything she said she liked about Harris, Harris demonstrated tonight. I expect the inevitable Trump temper tantrum will come tomorrow if it hasn't already. Mentioning the A.I. thing was a good example of how dishonest Trump is. I'm still nervous of how the MSM is going to spin this.

    Kevin are you kidding???? All those Swifties will do exactly what she's going to do. No joke, this is the endorsement we have been waiting for. This is a huge boost for her. Think about all the people who sold out her shows. They weren't all tweens. AND she's a proud childless cat lady!!! Buy this girl the tee shirt.

        It’s time a city — Springfield, Ohio and Aurora, Colorado for example — that Trump has lied about and portrayed as a hell hole sue him for slander. Cities spend a lot of money on PR to attract new businesses and tourism so Trump’s comments have serious, negative consequences given the millions of fools who still believe his deranged lies.

      The best part of her endorsement was her strong emphasis on registering to vote and saying “I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yourself to do, and the choice is yours to make”. I am so struck by the passion of her supporters and the respect they have for her and the control she has over her own career. She is a fantastic role model for young women and women of all ages.

      My son and daughter took their daughters, aged 9 and 11, to a Taylor Swift concert. My son who had not been a Swift fan and generally isn’t into pop music was beyond impressed and told my daughter it was the best concert he had ever attended. She now teases him about being a Swiftie. Apparently the special effects are mind-boggling. I definitely need to watch the documentary of her Eras Tour.

        It was great to endorse Harris. Even more important was telling people to make their own choice and to register to vote. Getting more people to vote never benefits Republicans, by their own admissions. Plus all the voter suppressing laws they've been trying to enact or have enacted.

    I doubt it makes much difference. The big problem for Harris is that Trump has the Straight, White, Christian supremacist vote locked up and they are immune to any fact, endorsement or debate result.

        Presumably, not all of her Insta followers are American voters, since the total population of America - including children - is just 333 million.

        Also presumably, not all of her Insta followers are "Straight, White, Christian supremacists" so perhaps they will follow her lead and vote Harris/Walz too.

      I doubt it makes much difference.

      All the polling suggests a very close contest. A shift of, say, a mere 0.2% could be the difference maker.

      I'm not saying Swift's endorsement accomplishes this, but it sure as hell can't hurt.

      the biggest impact of her endorsement will be getting people to register and to vote. trump's problem is that he doesn't appeal much to anyone other than straight, white, christian supremacists. and not every straight, white christian is a christian supremacist.

      The youth vote is famously difficult to motivate. They generally favor Democrats, but are less likely to show up and vote than older voters.

      Swift doesn't have to change anyone's mind to make a difference. All she has to do is nudge a handful of those Dem-leaning-but-not-quite-motivated-to-vote voters to actually vote.

      That doesn't seem like all that heavy a lift. She might be able to do it.

    This is great news and excellent timing. I'm sure it will lead to a lot of new voter registrations and a not inconsiderable number of new votes for Kamala. In a close election a few thousand votes in what will likley be very close swing state totals could be enough to swing the outcome.

    I'm too old to be a proper Swifty but I have long respected her career and have come to enjoy her music quite a lot over the last few years, especially "Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions" during the pandemic which is worth a listen for anyone who hasn't heard it. This endorsment really solidifies my respect for her personally. It would have been safe and easy for her to continue promoting voter registration and not endorse so as to avoid MAGA hate and commercial blowback. Of course she's a billionaire now with one of if not the most fervent fanbases out there so she'll survive just fine but still it shows real courage. Go Tay Tay!

    Young voters have the lowest turnout rate for elections than does any other demographic. Anything that can get more of them to vote will be quite helpful.

    Probably worth a whole lot more than Darth Vader's (Dick Chaney) endorsement.

    In this tight election, it certainly could help. Maybe she can do a few concerts (with voter registration) in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan. Too bad KC is in Missouri, a state dripping bright red.

    Couch Fucker Vance is certainly going to go after Swift for this. It's not going to turn out well for Vance.

    All joking aside, I think this is wonderful.

        Well, it's easier to do that kind of thing when you don't have to wash your own laundry.

        But I agree it's a good picture and a good endorsement.

    We're all Swifties now. Expect to hear about the parents who will be questioned by their "too young to vote" [HT Eddie Cochran] tweeners; "What's a child tax credit? "What about the climate?" What's a miscarriage?"
    Should be fun...

      Yeah, most cats don't like to be held. Speaking as a former cat owner, we do like to hold them though, despite the annoyed looks they give us.
