Today's surprise uptick is again supplied by Oklahoma, which got caught up on 300-some deaths from the backlog.
Thanks--I was wondering about that. But still blows the no state reporting over 100 deaths on a given day for a week out of the water....
There's always next week.
Tale of two cities: new cases/day/100K, infection rate and vaccination (first dose, percent of population)
Seattle: 11.9, 0.86, 53.4%
Spokane: 29.2, 1.12, 38.3%
(from CovidActNow.org, Metro areas).
Roughly speaking, is total vaccination around 56%, then adult population at 70% since it is mostly adults getting vaccinated. The CDC does break down vaccinations by age group--but their site is still not very friendly. The map gives you data in pop up boxes--clicking on a state kicks you over to that states Covid site. Scroll down, and you can look at a data table.
CNN has write up on how new CDC guidance on masks boosted vaccinations.
