I can’t believe the US numbers have jumped up again. I just want this to be over.

  Most people want it to be over. Unfortunately, "want it" is not necessarily equal to "will do whatever it takes to help it be over."

    In fact, the GQP can weaponize its base's resistance to vaccination against joebiden with the intermittent (partial) economic shutdowns necessitated by spikes in case & fatality counts, & thus strengthen the Biden Recession. In turn, that weaker GDP performance will lead to even better GQP gains in November 2022 House & Senate races. (& even as Virginia, New Jersey, & California buck tradition & see the president's party hold the governor's offices.)

  Given the nature of that "jump" I suspect it was a "catch-up" with a state or three reporting some previously unreported deaths. The 7-day trailing average Kevin uses can smooth-over some, but not all bumps. Grand Junction CO getting close to 40 and cases are going up, vax at 30%
Spokane, WA ca 30, had a spike in cases that may be fading, vax at 39%
Colorado Springs, CO ca 27, numbers starting to fall after a spike, vax at 37%
Olympia, WA ca. 25, cases shooting up, vax at 46%
Longview, WA ca. 24, numbers maybe starting to level off, vax at 41%

Expect numbers to bounce around a bit this week--holiday weekend.
