This is Hilbert on the front lawn getting ready to eat some grass. He likes grass because it clears out his digestive system, which then ends up on our floor. I wouldn't mind so much except that he always heads for a carpet instead of just barfing on the hardwood floor where it's easy to clean up. Stupid cats.
The monarch always requires his subjects to perform menial tasks…not that they should need to be done, but rather that the subjects must periodically demonstrate their fealty to their ruler.
My cats do that too! Can't figure out why.
It's only because it is harder to clean up. They know it.
My cat likes hairball gel, & it helps- as does the brushing & bombing that she loves. With her when she's outside, I do my best to keep her off the grass for this & other reasons, but she is persistent.
Too late - sorry, "combing" is what she likes to do herself, grabbing the comb with her paw. Cats can't digest grass, & it causes stains, so don't believe people who say that they eat it because they're sick & it's somehow a remedy.
But better grass than birds & lizards!
I've read that it's a laxative for them. All that fiber.

Perhaps the cat wants it to soak into the ground/grass rather than be a puddle on a rock, and inside the house carpet is more like grass and hardwood floor is like rock…
My dogs are very considerate, always jumping off the furniture to barf on the floor. However like Hilbert, they insist on finding some carpet or a mat to do it, never on the tiles. Fortunately they don't do it as often as when they were pups.
