Friday Cat Blogging – 3 November 2023

Here is Hilbert playing with his string toy last night as Charlie looks on. This is by far their favoritest toy—aside from each other, of course.

Earlier this week, Orangey charged into the office and viciously went at one of the most favored toys, a pair of those SolarRolz roll up sunglasses on a string, tied to the top drawer of a filing cabinet. In seconds, Orca had joined him, and it was wild, violent kitty tetherball.

Then they noticed their empty soft drink twele pack. One darted into it with a resounding crash and was attacked by the other as he emerged from the exit end. This went on for some time, as they changed places and attacked over and over.

After awhile, things quieted down. I looked over to see if the kittens had left, and found Orca inserted through the twelve pack AND batting at the sunglasses on a string. Kitties just want to have fun.

Having noticed that both Hilbert & Charlie seem
to look more well-fed & increasingly well-rounded, I wonder if their playing with toys no longer includes leaping for a feather flyer, but consists of dilatory moving a string while reclining, with tail held upright to signal that the cat is in active mode.

Too many lizards in their diet?
