Great news. It's nice in times like this to have some positive things to feel happy about. And good food is a big deal for all of us. So, congratulations.

That is wonderful! I have felt a little guilty suddenly realizing how much I enjoy taste, having watched you losing yours...in our busy lives we can forget to stop and savor these seemingly simple pleasures...at the moment
I am having a bowl of Special K, super low cal Almond milk, with lots of blueberries...yummy, with all of its difficulties, this reminds me that life is still sweet...
Salt is back, next sweet, after that bitter and then sour, lastly umami or savory...our five basic tastes....you will appreciate them coming home!

Unfortunately that was sugar you were eating….

Now you can put salt on everything, like potato chips.

The sad part of growing old is the loss of enjoyable sensations. Glad that you got one back.

Potato-chip chicken (from memory)
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
Large bag of potato chips
~1 lb of chicken tenders
Mix egg and milk in largish bowl.
Cut tenders into nugget-sized pieces and place in bowl with mixture. If desired, cover bowl and let chicken marinate for a while in the fridge.
In bag or another bowl, crush the potato chips.
Heat oven to 400 degrees. F, not C.
Take nuggets and roll/cover in potato chips. Place on parchment lined sheet/baking pan
Place pan in heated oven.
Turn pieces after ten minutes. Bake a further ten minutes.
Can goose the crushed chips, or the milk/egg mixture with other seasoning to, well, taste 🙂

C is for Cajun, right? Talk about your blackened chicken.

Congrats, Kevin! Great news. And you know, there are some ethnic cuisines where salt is the only spice allowed . . .

So glad to hear it! We will need your sensible, facts-based, educated blog more than ever in the years to come. Last night I just recommended your blog to a client who’s trying to figure out where to get her news.
Meanwhile, everyone who is eligible for any government funding should enroll and get them ASAP. Eligibility will be the first thing cut by the new administration, and if you’re already receiving them you may be next in line but you’ll be in a position to litigate any change.
