I have a new toy. Can you guess what it is? Well? Can you?

It is obviously a very tall crane.

Let me guess: It makes an annoying buzz.
I think you sharpened the photos too much. They look okay when enlarged to full resolution, but at blog size, they're kind of muddy, like an old APS film camera snapshot.

Maybe. The camera is OK but not great, and after I reduced the image size I used the default sharpening in Photoshop. I don't do that very often with images from my regular camera. I'm still getting used to the drone camera and I'm not yet sure about how to handle sharpening.
Do you have a 4K monitor? That makes a big difference.

Upon further review, it appears that the muddiness is the result of the images being much noisier. I don't know if the noise was generated in the camera or is related to some step of image processing (possibly the dithering algorithm that was used?).
Here's a comparison of similar portions of the Palomar photo and the Providence Mtns. photo from a few days ago, both starting from the full-sized images as posted: https://imgur.com/a/2vxRvk9

Clearly a hot air balloon.

Though I'd still go with the classic--lawn chair and He balloons...and a gun.

A pair of binoculars? Where is a photo of the new purchase?
Polarizer.
But wouldn't you have used one for ages?
An excuse to drive around in your ICE vehicle…
Which DJI did you get? Don't break any laws!
Some sort of drone?
It's a blimp
Just make sure that it's control frequency is encrypted, wouldn't want Hopper using it on you or every bird West of the Rockies.
Or maybe a really good trampoline?
A really long selfie stick?
A harness for a kite?
I'd guess, for the camera and not you--unless it's a very big kite.
Anti-gravity boots.
They're powered by the dreams of cats.
Ya gotta love the humor of your readers. I was going to guess you got a new app to hack “StockPhoto” but I like the others better...
Friends with saucers?
A drone to bear your camera?
... oh, he admitted to that in around the second comment. (duh)
Oh, but there were a number of comments before he replied to that comment - I checked back several times before that appeared.
"Anti-gravity boots.

This is really, really great, but what does it mean?!? It means something important but, but....just What?
I will ponder this.

Mavic Mini 2, clearly.
Most sub 0.55 pound drones don't have a very good camera, and Kevin likely didn't bother getting a license.
