    Every time I see a photo like that I think Haysoos would be aghast when shown it.
    The Sermon On The Mount didn't mention wasting the lives of the poor on elaborate churches. Did he mention churches????

      Amen.

      And heaven knows he would be surprised to see Joel Osteen preaching the prosperity gospel on his local NBC affiliate - or the good Christians threatening to kill school board members, teachers - anyone who offends their sense of freedom. Just where did the red-letter Christians go?

      Maybe some of the poor like the elaborate church. Jesus had a lot to say about giving to the poor, but he also had the occasion to say, "Let this woman anoint my head with the good stuff."
