This is a seagull on the Seal Beach pier. I can't think of anything else to say about it.

knobby knees. Nice.

Ankles. The knees are hidden in its feathers.

A clear illustration of why "bird legs" is an insult.
Displaced Canuck
What kind of Gull is this? Someone should know.

Adult Western Gull. My guess is female, based on the head shape and bill size/shape. Southern populations of Western Gulls are much darker than northern populations.
On an unrelated note I've been wondering if anyone had updated the visualization showing monthly global temperature anomalies in a circular spiral from a few years back, and today I saw that NASA has it now up to 2021.
Stay till the end, the rotate the few from top to side and it's... yeah.

That's a great way to look at temperature change over time. Plenty scary too. We're on the road to hell.

Seagulls like garbage. Their future as a species looks bright.

Smarter than Ginni Thomas. Better looking too, I'm afraid, though I'm not partial to bird legs.

"Seagulls" reminds me of Red Skelton's old Heathcliff and Gertrude routines. "Have you seen the new model cars?" "Yes, I spotted on this morning."
However, most bird enthusiasts refer to these birds as "gulls" because many of them spend very little time by the sea.
And thanks to Steve_OH for the ID. In many cases gulls are notoriously difficult to identify. Different species mature in different lengths of time (2 years, 3 years, 4 years) and the immature ones can be a real puzzle.
