This is a bit of Queen Anne's Lace along the road to Laguna Beach.

Really?? That looks like the Anthriscus sylvestris variety, per wikipedia. A very nice flower.
I've got the "weed" variety: Daucus carota (which has a root that looks like a carrot, but is supposed to be poisonous.) I've lately been trying to weed them out, given that it's the monsoon season now, and the ground is fairly soft.

You're right that it's not Queen Anne's lace, but it's hard to say what it really is without seeing more of the plant. I'm leaning towards poison hemlock (Conium maculatum).
Queen Anne's lace isn't poisonous; it's the ancestor of the domestic carrot. The foliage can cause skin irritation in some people (true for domestic carrots as well as wild Queen Anne's lace).

I love that road.

That is definitely *not* Queen Anne's Lace. If you spend enough time around QAL, you'll see the flowers in a fat cluster that looks like a bed of flowers and in the center of the whole cluster there'll be a red/pink/purple section developing -- https://bityl.co/E1e4

I'm guessing it was probably Queen Anne's Serving Girl's lace. That's just how royalty works.

I've long been meaning to compliment Kevin on one of the photos in his regular rotation: the Santa Ana strip mall. A barbershop next to a pawn shop next to a bail bonds shop next to a copy store next to a tattoo parlor next to a wig shop next to a vape store. And the billboard towering over everything advertises a weed retailer. All that's missing is the Law offices of Saul Goodman.

Fantastic slice of America, this place.
