This is a sculpture in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles. It's pretty beat up and I have no idea what it's supposed to be of. For some reason, though, it continues to intrigue me every time I look at it. So here it is for the rest of you.

Wait. Did someone cut the head off the mermaid in Copenhagen again??
Google is strangely silent on that one. In fact, try finding a photo of a bronze that is NOT Poseidon next to a pool, even when you exclude Poseidon and pools from the search.
I think it's a standing sphinx!
