Seems like a good location for a solar panel array. Cove the entire California Aqueduct.
For those of you not from CA, at one time (Not sure about it now) the California Aqueduct was one of the largest users of electricity in the State. Takes a lot of electricity to pump that water over mountains.

I was looking at that expanse of water in the desert and wondering what the evaporation losses are.
Is it going to overflow when the Big Canadian Faucet is turned on?
