My eye adjustments are finished. Maybe.

Four weeks of eye adjustments are now complete and my artificial lenses have been locked in. Starting on Friday I no longer have to wear anti-UV glasses and my eyesight will have recovered from today's dilation fest. Hooray.

Then it will just be a matter of waiting. I'm not very happy with how things turned out, but it does tend to take a while for things to settle in after each of these adjustments. Now that the last one has been done I'm going to give it 30 days and then go in for a final post-op session in mid-June. After that I'll make a decision about whether to keep what I have or see if I can switch to a different type of lens.

Eyes take awhile to heal. I am 6 weeks out from having a detached retina repaired and my eyesight is still changing pretty dramatically every week. Hang in there and good luck!

Having had two RDs in one eye and cataract surgery in both, I agree. You might want to give it as much as six months. But please keep up the reports.

Happy with 20/20 in both eyes after surgery. Not happy with double vision. Been wearing glasses since the 6th grade so wearing them to correct the double is no big deal.

Had my second vitrectomy on Wednesday, and my eye feels pretty rected. Eye looks like I was in a fight and it's pretty goopy too. The other eye's vitrectomy and two cataract surgeries, nary a problem. No idea why this one is different except I was conscious during the surgery, which was a first.

Regarding the UV lens, it's pretty new, so I can imagine it's not fully dialed in, but as my cataract surgeon said, they aim for 20/50, which is a long way from perfect. I wound up 20/20 and 25 so maybe I got lucky? I know I'd have been disappointed at 20/50 especially if I had to wear UV glasses for a month. I was driving the next day.

The good news is you can have another IOL put in. The bad news is I'm guessing the UV lens wasn't covered by insurance. Insurance typically only covers a conventional lens. I have very good .gov insurance and I was still out of pocket for $6K because I went for a more advanced lens.

    Anyways, good luck with it.
