Ron DeSantis decided today he has something on his mind:

DeSantis undoubtedly blurted this out because he figured it would own the libs. What he doesn't realize is that virtually all of us libs can't stand RFK Jr. DeSantis isn't owning anyone.
This is sort of like the Hunter Biden affair. Conservatives just can't get it through their heads that most libs don't care about Hunter Biden. Unless there's evidence connecting his sleaziness to Joe Biden—and there isn't—we just don't give a rat's ass.
You can tell he thought it was a great answer because he didn't do that bobblehead thing.

I doubt it. Much more likely is he thought it would help him with the GOP red meat primary base. Which has been his (failing) strategy for months now.
Whether we think it's a good idea or whether it will work, DeSantis believes he has to stay in social media mix in order to stay in the race. And he figures that if & when Trump support collapses, he will be the consensus choice as long as he stays in the race.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he is wrong. Still pretty unlikely support for Trump will collapse at this point. Even less likely is DeSantis being the consensus choice if that first unlikely thing happens.
Hunter Biden obsession is not about owning the libs. It's about conning the mainstream media into latching onto it as a way of convincing low-information quadrennial voters -- especially those who get their news from TV -- that Biden is just as corrupt as Trump, so blah, at least gas was a dollar cheaper, right?
And as for RFKjr? KENNEDY! Yes, some older voters will latch onto the name, remembering that for some reason they liked someone named Kennedy.

"Owning the libs" has nothing to do with libs. Its propaganda designed to get Republicans to hate liberals.
Its not Trump or Desantis that is the issue, its the fact that for every hateful thing they say there are millions clamoring for more. That's what needs to sink in.
Its like saying WWII propaganda showing how inhuman the Japanese were has "no effect on the Japanese." Of course it doesn't, its not produced for the Japanese.
