But will his district elect someone not crazy and who is able to play well with others? That is the question. In small elections, the turnout is different than large general ones.
I think Team Blue is figuring out that every election counts (as shown in some recent school board elections).
Finally. They've been oblivious the the GOP strategy of starting local and building a "wall" of decision makers up and down the food chain that has been been very successful for the past 30+ years.
District 3 was +10 Biden in 2020, and only went Republican for President in 2004. It is also purportedly the wealthiest congressional district in NYS. Includes the wealthiest areas in Nassau County (western north shore), small part of northern Queens, and a large (populated) area in the middle of Nassau County, which has turned more "Trumpy" since 2016. Both parties will fight hard and I don't think it will be a low turnout special election, with the NY media focused on it. Hopefully Santo's stench will help the Democrats prevail and hold next November.
