The economy is doing better than we thought

Hmmm. We have a lot more jobs than we thought:

In the most recent four months with revisions, June through September, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported it underestimated job growth by a cumulative 626,000 jobs — that’s the largest underestimate of any other comparable period, going back to 1979. If those revisions were themselves a jobs report, they’d be an absolute blockbuster.

This is a bit of a pattern. The Afghanistan withdrawal turned out to be a lot better than we initially thought based on the disasters of the first day. The economy is better than we initially thought based on early prints of the jobs reports. The infrastructure bill is good stuff but has to overcome the initial political infighting that slowed it down.

That's bad luck for the Biden crew. But better than the other way around, I suppose.

He needs to do a Trump. Everytime he gets press he has to tout x numbers of jobs, an economy running hot, best ever! Even in unrelated stuff.

Also I think a good example is the new Crypto.com Arena. Seems like a weird choice but it will be looked back on as a good idea!

      HODL-ers beware.

      Staples (SPLS) stock price:
10/17/99 14.04 (when Staples Center opened)
09/12/17 10.25 (when Staples, Inc. acquired by Sycamore Partners)

A 27% loss over 18 years. Not what you call a great return.

Crypto.com bought naming rights for 20 years. Will the company be around that long?

I'm just lazily trying to trigger KDrum. I am positive about crypto currency in general but not really a crazed libertarian evangelist.

SPLS Split 3/2 in 2005 so that's really about a 10% gain over 18 years. Still not great, but if they paid dividends as well it's not horrible.

      True, promotion.

Taking this lesson from Trump would help them immensely. Being shy will not save them from MidTerm disaster.

Of course making theatrical action to attack inflation would help as well in all likelihood.

Interestingly, Biden's largest support is with purple state indies, no surprise with his infrastructure bill passing. While liberals in hard blue states his support has dropped. Unlike what progtards thought in 2009, this is the exact opposite with Obama. Really shows how Presidential polling is having population sampling issues. Too much along certain population corridors. This is a Republic. Land coverage matters.

To be fair though, you gotta admit that a giant deadly funnel web spider that can bite through a human fingernail is a lot cooler than a correction of the initial jobs report. And cool clicks, amirite?

        When you're right, you're right.

Note that this is just the biggest funnel web spider. They've got even bigger spiders than that, and they live in webs that are frequently at face level.

    The "BIGGLIEST JOB CREATOR EVER"

Illegal border crossings are down for the 3rd straight month as well

Next thing you know Mike Lindell will say Trump pushed the envelope so hard he got impeached twice !!! " Biden is too deep state to push the envelope like Emp.........er.......Kin......er........Supreme Lea..........er.......President Trump did."

And how would that have affected this past election cycle?
The sad thing is, the numbers were pretty good already...but you did not have a full court press talking them up.

… but when it comes to handling the problem that is going to kill us has Biden&Co been talking with forked tongues!
Just days after the US delegation in Glasgow was bragging about taking the lead globally , bragging about the United States of America going to lead by example are the same United States of America handing over the entire Gulf of Mexico to the fossil fuel billionaires to do what they pleases with
Not even Donald J Trump was this successful in handing out drilling permits
A small reminder from a disillusioned Swede

… but just look at those stock market returns, who cares about a couple of centigrades

The press (not just Fox) has been working overtime to make everyone believe that the entire health of the economy rests on the shoulders of one man, Joe Biden.

Let's see how that turns out when the bust turns into a boom.

There is a sort of Gaussian distribution, i.e. standard normal distribution,
in how the public remembers and acts on the memory

68% are focused only on the last six months
95% focus on the last year.
99.7% within the last 2 years.

Once you put aside the notion that people are thoughtful, attentive, politics becomes so easy to wager on...

It's the extreme end of a pattern a thoughtful commentator would note - When the economy is rising quickly, the previous months' jobs estimates are frequently revised up. Conversely, in a severe downturn, they're frequently revised down.

But Glenn Yungkins told me the Virginia economy was in the ditch since El Pepe Maximo usurped the presidency!
