Vaccination reduces chance of long COVID by half

Need another reason to stay up to date on your COVID vaccination? Here are the results of a new study on the incidence of long COVID:

You are about half as likely to get long COVID if you've been vaccinated. If that's not sufficient motivation, I don't know what is.

BY THE WAY: It turns out the official name for long COVID is postacute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2. How about that?

This vaccination kick has got to end. If we really want to reform Medicare and Medicaid in this country there's no better way to do it than by removing the cause of costs. Incidentally there will be a massive savings in Social Security.

It would be easier to stay up to date if all health care systems weren't incompetent. It really sucks getting an email saying "get your vaccine now!" and then going online and to the phone to learn there is no vaccine available and no one knows when it will be available.

Guess that depends on where you live. Here in Rhode Island, my wife and I had no problems getting our jabs last month.

Yeah, I'm in central NY and a lot of pharmacies aren't stocking the vaccine right now because they're waiting for the updated one this fall.

The risk of getting myocarditis is similiar. You're more likely to suffer it if you're unvaccinated vs being vaccinated.

"postacute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2". Imagine that in the notoriously terrible handwriting of a physician!

Oh heck, I'm clinging to the hope that my zealous efforts at maintaining my Covid vaccines in an as up to date as humanely possible status have some benefit. I had Covid September 2023 and just tested positive last Sunday - so far Kaiser has been great one visit to ER, and they gave me every possible med to 1) get better 2) be able to breathe (important) and stop coughing like a 5 pack a day long haul trucker with COPD - lol. So far, it's been miserably tolerable. But heck - what kind of lottery is this? Covid 2x in one year?

Not getting sick is not a feature of vaccines to either the extreme right or the extreme left. They both believe natural immunity is better. Back in the day, before vaccination, we referred to natural immunity as dead.
