Doesn't exactly look like the rate is plummeting. Looks more like it's leveled out.
Not counting about 3,700 cases from past weeks and months discovered by Ohio, which distorted the last two days, death rates are still dropping.
The number of new cases has actually dropped pretty drastically. About 150k per day over the past month. We should be seeing much lower numbers of deaths soon, both because of the lower number of cases and also because more of us olds are getting vaccinated. How about you bear? Had your vaccine yet?
He avoids park rangers because after that last time he was sure they did something to him but he has no idea what.
I guess that explains the tag on his ear.
Which says if you can read this you are too close, this is a bear.
Stole back a picnic basket?
Still dropping--but also still higher than the summer surge.
Much higher than summer's, but the summer surge was highly regional. The fall/winter surge happened all over the country at the same time.
Was there a Superbowl bump?
Isn't it a bit too soon to tell? Certainly there will be one in Tampa, didn't see to much social distancing there after the victory.
Prolly right. But oy, what's with people? P A N D E M I C is not that hard.
Where's rick_jones when you need him?
The bump may be hard to pick out with cases dropping in most areas. The Northeast has bumps popping up already--but I think they're mainly reporting artifacts due to the Nor'Easter they had.
Prolly. And there probably is a Superbowl bump, but it'll be insignifiant to the coming Valentine's bump!
Our rates are yoked to those of Mexico. We can't fight COVID-19 here effectively without fighting it there as well.
