That's right, I've been blogging for 20 years: first on my own; then for the Washington Monthly; then for Mother Jones; and now back on my own again. This is longer than I spent on my allegedly "real" career in the high tech industry from college graduation through 2001.
But I haven't yet achieved my primary blogging goal: persuading someone to change their mind. Someday it'll happen!
Congratulations! And thank you, I’ve been along for the entire ride.
Hmm, I used to vote straight ticket Republican (until 2016). I saw through Trump's BS from the start. But also my views on many issues have shifted left some as a direct result of Kevin's blog posts. So at least one person has been persuaded to change their mind! I used to totally oppose Obamacare, for example, but now I think it makes perfect sense. And it should be expanded and improved.
Your 2013 piece on lead and crime blew my mind. I reached out to Dr Howard Mielke afterwards and supported his research & initiatives for years. I am very thankful to you for writing that. I am also in a tech career, and hope to pivot to writing.
I remember when you went to MJ. Twenty years. Wow! Thanks a bunch. I've told many people about leaded gasoline. One or two even believe it!
