National Review: Biden is a clandestine agent of China

Over at National Review, Andy McCarthy wanders ever further down the rabbit hole of abject lunacy:

On the latest episode of his podcast The McCarthy Report, National Review Institute fellow Andy McCarthy reacted to the revelation that Joe Biden’s brother, James, wrote him a $40,000 check when a $400,000 payment from a Chinese concern came in.

“It’s 10 percent for the big guy,” he said.

“I can’t see any other way of looking at this,” he continued, “except to say that Joe Biden, as it turns out, is what they accused Donald Trump of being: He is a clandestine agent who’s been well paid by a hostile foreign power.

In what will come as no surprise to those of you who retain your sanity, there is indeed another way of looking at this: it was repayment of a loan Joe had made to his brother a month earlier. That's it.

McCarthy went off the deep end a long time ago. That happens. But why does NR keep publishing his obviously unhinged rants?

Please Kevin, no more posts about the Arab/Israel situation. I'm exhausted reading the vitriol in the response to the last two posts. This blog has always been the more rational one I read. More charts please. With or without correction for inflation.

As a (now very) former prosecutor, NR can claim McCarthy has professional expertise and experience that make his rants authoritative.

The media is required to fill its empty space with bullshit or minutia. Since they all seem to be right leaning recently, they are filling in with bat guano.

Of course Orange Jesus didn't collude with with the Russians according the the MAGA supporters (Faux News, NR, WSJ, ect). Just because the 2016 campaign had about 140 contacts with Russian Military Intelligence (or Wikileaks or likely agents for either), or that their campaign manager gave their voter research data to the Russians to better help them interfere with the election, or that Il Duce asked for, welcomed and expected help from Russian Military Intelligence, or that Il Duce continued to kiss Putin's ass at every opportunity. None of that should possibly lead one to question if he is a Russian Agent or asset.

MAGA/GOP of today considers such actions to be consistent with being a true American patriot.

why does NR keep publishing his obviously unhinged rants?

Because the MAGAts will be drawn to it like flies on shit?

Freudian projection, which works in politics. Trump and kids took hundreds of millions of $ in bribes? Accuse Biden of it. Trump's kids used their father's influence to grab money? Accuse Hunter of it. Trump was in Putin's pocket? Accuse Biden of it.

The end result is 'both sides', and there isn't a reporter alive who can resist that.

At this point I always assume projection. It must be in the propagandists's handbook. That means ANYTHING they accuse Biden or the Ds of, THEY ARE DOING IT. If we have any real journalists anywhere, they should be automatically assuming there is a story to break there, all that remains is to gather the evidence.

How long did it take NR to part ways with self-described racist John Derbyshire? Face it being a loon is no obstacle to being published there.

Well, he didn't become a *self-described* racist until after they fired him. Part of me kind of misses him, because unlike most racist sh!tbags he actually had a positive trait: he was the one guy on the NR staff who would take up the tedious and thankless task of addressing and refuting the arguments of creationists. I don't think anyone at NR does that any more, though admittedly I don't go there nowadays, so I wouldn't know.

He actually described himself as a mild tolerant racist as far back as 2003 which I believe is 9 years before he got the boot. See quote below:
“ i think that makes me a “very mild, tolerant racist.””

But why does NR keep publishing his obviously unhinged rants?

Presumably they keep doing so because not doing so would be bad for business.
